Coolers!

I FINALLY got to start working on my cooler because classes died down slightly. Well, really I just get to have one day off before my life turns back into the busy mess it was before.

So as I start this I'm about to say what I always say: no tutorial. Sorry. I just wanted to get the hang of cooler painting before I started snapping progress pictures and write a tutorial.

Also, I freehanded everything so there really isn't much to give a tutorial on anyways.

But anywho, let's begin!

I saw this and decided to be really ambitious and try to copy this! Frankly, I don't think I did TOO bad (:

Haha, my feet. Just ignore them!

To make the ocean took me two tries and a couple of hours. I eventually decided that for me it was easiest to paint the ocean a bace color and then add the accent colors and mix without changing brushes. It gave me the layering of color I was looking for. Further, I made sure my paint strokes were swirly and wave-like because it will dry that way and give an appearance of movement (at least in my opinion).

The letters were simple. I just used my handwriting and wrote it in my handwriting. Simple (:

This is where you'll really hate me. There's no tutorial and no mini tutorial like that above.

I just free handed everything! I looked at my reference picture and drew!

I think it turned out great though! The next sides of the coolers will be tutorials though! Get excited!

It's currently 1 in the morning..

I just needed a quick distraction from the mounds of homework I currently have. I'll probably be up all night working on it but that's the price I pay for procrastination!

However, I will have a few exciting things up soon! I actually mean it this time. I have a deadline to work with and therefore it'll actually get posted on this site!

Next week, is Big/Little reveal!  My sorority has only been on my campus for a little over two years now so we are all fairly new! That being said, my sorority family is really small. In fact, it's basically just my big and I because my big and her twin aren't really that close. In an effort to expand our family, my big decided to take on a new little this semester and we find out who she is Sunday! LET THE CRAFTING COMMENCE.

My new twin, however, won't find out who we are until next Friday. But my big and I have a lot of prep work to do for next Friday! My big isn't the craftiest individual so she asked me to help her get everything ready. We have to paint a sheet and get costumes ready. I won't reveal our theme until I post the pictures up sometime next week so there is still some mystery ;)

I've also been SWAMPED with school and have been busy with my extracurricular activities so I haven't had time to even begin my cooler painting that I mentioned in a previous post. However, I really hope to start on that within the next two weeks. The cooler is sitting in my closet taking up way too much room so I'm definitely ready to paint it and send it on its way!

Anyways, for now enjoy a picture of my Big/Little reveal from last semester. You'll see the big sheet that we'll have to paint and get an idea of what to expect soon.
